Learn-to-Curl

Learn To Curl is a one and half hour instructional session where you will be taught the basics of curling by certified instructors along with the opportunity to play a couple ends of curling. You can register as an individual or as a group. Groups are limited to parties of 8 or less. Nutmeg also offers private group and corporate events. If you are looking to use the facility for a private party or corporate event please click HERE

Nutmeg has the following Learn-to-Curl events atill open for registration this fall:

    October 30th, 2021 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

    November 6th, 2021 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

    December 28th, 2021 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

You should wear warm, comfortable clothing to curl in.  The temperature out on the ice is about 40 degrees; please keep that in mind when you are deciding what to wear.  Hats and/or gloves are certainly appropriate.   We would suggest that you layer your clothing, as you may find you “warm up” when you are sweeping, but get chilled when standing listening to instruction, or waiting for your turn to try something.  Whatever you choose, remember that you will need to be able to bend and get into a low squatting position.

You should bring a pair of sneakers (or similar type of flat-soled shoe) to wear out on the ice, it is preferred that you do not wear these shoes in from the parking lot.  We have spent a lot of time and effort preparing the ice and dirt brought in from the outside will wreak havoc on it.

Nutmeg Curling Club has adopted a stringent policy for the safety of our guests. We require all participants in Club events to be fully vaccinated and submit proof of vaccination. By registering for this event:

    1. You certify that you are fully vaccinated with the second dose of Pfizer/Moderna or first dose of Johnson and Johnson.

    2. You agree that you will not enter the Nutmeg Curling Club if you feel unwell. Guests who exhibit any of the following symptoms should not curl: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting.

Acceptable proof of vaccination must be issued by the healthcare provider that performed the vaccination. Acceptable proof of vaccination is a CDC card or a print out from the COVID vaccine provider. Proof of vaccination must include your name, and indicate it has been at least two weeks since your second dose in a two-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or two weeks after a single dose vaccine such as the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

Proof of vaccination (via a photo or photocopy of the original document), our Infections Disease Release (found HERE), and this Certification of Compliance (found HERE) should be emailed to This email address is being protected from spambots. There are no refunds or exchanges for any reason (cancellations, no shows, weather, etc) unless the event is cancelled by Nutmeg.
